I began preparing for my 2nd annual garden months ago. I'm finally getting to set eveything up and start planting. Maybe a little late, but that's one of the great things about having a vegetable garden, nobody cares. The kids love digging in the dirt and picking the veggies when they get ripe (or not) and it gets everyone outside for several hours a day.
I think I love my yearly vegetable garden so much because it's so wonderfully...temporary. There's no commitment really, which is great for me. You can change your mind every year about where the plants go and what they are. If you don't water it, that's ok; you can get it the next day. Best of all, when you feel like you've got what you want from it, you just let it die and start over again the next year. New plants come up from the year before, completely forgiving of your previous neglect, and give you fresh veggies all over again. Isn't that great?
